Our Story

THE STORY
Rossler’s BLUE CORD Barbecue was founded in early 2016 in Harker Heights, TX, with a mission to bring true Central Texas-style BBQ to the community. At the helm is Steven Rossler, co-owner and Pitmaster, who dedicated 20.5 years to the U.S. Army as an Infantryman, retiring in December 2020. A decorated war veteran, Steven earned the Bronze Star with Valor in Afghanistan, but was deployed to Iraq earlier in his career. His commitment to tradition is reflected in every bite—cooking low and slow on an offset stick burner with post oak, salt, pepper, and a whole lot of love.
But behind every great pitmaster is a strong backbone, and for Steven, that’s Kristen Rossler. With 16 years of experience in the restaurant industry, she’s done it all—from cashier to upper management—and plays a vital role in both the business and the family. Together for over 10 years, Steven and Kristen have built not just a business but a family legacy. Their two daughters hustle just as hard, and when not in school, you’ll find them working alongside their parents, learning the ropes of real Texas BBQ.
